Utility Account Servicer
Stone Bridge Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Utility Account Servicer to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in providing essential water utility services to our community while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Essential Job Functions
– Deliver outstanding customer service, including professionally handling challenging situations with upset customers
– Execute field operations including turning water service on/off, reading meters, and performing basic meter repairs
– Collect and process work orders through multiple daily visits
– Plan and optimize driving routes throughout Tyler to complete assignments efficiently
– Utilize technology (computer, tablet, cell phone) to access and update meter information
– Maintain effective communication with office staff, Service Center, and other departments regarding meter operations
– Monitor and collect payments from designated lockbox locations
– Process work orders through the TEAMS application
Other Responsibilities
– Assist with bank transactions for department operations
– Support other departments as needed
– Operate various hand tools for meter access
– Additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
– High school diploma or GED required
– Minimum one year of customer service and basic computer experience
– Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License with clean driving record and proof of insurance
Technical Skills
– Proficiency in operating meter equipment and handheld reading units
– Ability to use various technology tools (radio, computer, tablet, cell phone)
– Knowledge of East Texas street layout and ability to read maps
– Understanding of meter operations and maintenance
Physical Requirements
– Capable of lifting 50 lbs. for up to 6.5 hours daily
– Able to carry, push, and pull 20-50 lbs. for short periods
– Extended periods of bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching (up to 6.5 hours daily)
– Kneeling and standing for up to 3 hours daily
– Walking and crouching for up to 2.5 hours daily
– Sitting for up to 2 hours daily
– Occasional climbing, crawling, and running
Working Conditions
– Must work outdoors in various weather conditions
– Required to work overtime when needed, sometimes with minimal notice
– Participation in rotating on-call after-hours schedule
