Seeking a Assistant Controller for a client here in Tyler
General Purpose: The Assistant Controller is responsible meeting the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting related functions of the firm. This position supports the Firm Administrator and Treasurer in financial and operational reporting.
Reports to: This position reports to the Firm Administrator.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The list of primary duties and responsibilities is only a representative summary of primary duties and responsibilities. The Incumbent may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional duties.
Supports employee on boarding process and ensures maintenance of employee records in various firm systems.
Processes scheduled payrolls for all firm employees and firm pay cycles.
Submits payroll tax deposits and payroll deductions in accordance with federal and state deadlines.
Prepares and submits quarterly and annual payroll tax reports to all federal and state agencies as well as employees including W2 and ACA reporting requirements.
Responsible for reconciliation of firm benefit invoices.
Responsible for reconciliation and payment of firm payables.
Reconciles payables to subledger monthly.
Prepares and submits annual tax reporting for all federal and state agencies and firm vendors and contractors.
Records deposits in accounting software.
Financial Statement reporting:
Reconciles accounts receivable to subledger monthly.
Prepares monthly journal entries.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
Reviews general ledger and income statement for variances and correct expense postings.
Compiles monthly financial statements.
Prepares management reports monthly.
Other duties as requested by supervisor.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting or position with related functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or like field required.
• Strong work ethic with good attendance record.
• Excellent organization and communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to problem solve using critical thinking skills.

This position requires critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve and communicate in a professional manner. Providing exceptional customer service is an expectation of this position. Being able to multi-task effectively while working under pressure and deadlines is required for this position.
Pay: $65K – $90K doe
M-F 8AM – 5PM
